ΠΡΟΣΤΑΤΕΥΟΜΕΝΟΙ ΦΥΣΙΚΟΙ ΣΧΗΜΑΤΙΣΜΟΙ ΣΤΑ ΠΕΤΡΑΔΟΛΑΚΙΑ ΤΟΥ ΨΗΛΟΡΕΙΤΗ

Προστατευόμενοι Φυσικοί Σχηματισμοί έχουν ανακηρυχθεί οι θέσεις μικρο-αποθέματος του σπάνιου και απειλούμενου φυτικού είδους Horstrissea dolinicola στις δολίνες της θέσης Πετραδολάκια στην οροσειρά της Ίδης.

Το είδος έχει πολύ περιορισμένη εξάπλωση και, μέχρι σήμερα, δεν έχει βρεθεί σε άλλη θέση. Είναι το μοναδικό είδος του γένους Horstrissea. Χαρακτηρίζεται ως Κρισίμως Κινδυνεύον (CR) σύμφωνα με τα κριτήρια της Διεθνούς Ένωσης για την Προστασία της Φύσης (IUCN).

Νανώδες φυτό που ζει υπόγεια, και μόνο το 10% των τμημάτων του αναδύεται από το έδαφος. Τα φύλλα ξεραίνονται τους θερινούς μήνες και εμφανίζονται οι ανθοφόροι βλαστοί, οι οποίοι καταλήγουν σε σφαιρική ταξιανθία.

ΒΙΟΤΟΠΟΣ

Η H.dolinicola φύεται σε γειτονικές δολίνες σε υψόμετρο 1.500 μ., στην Ίδη (Ψηλορείτης). Εξαπλώνεται στον πυθμένα και σε πλάγιες θέσεις με μικρή κλίση, καταλαμβάνοντας συνολικά έκταση 38 στρεμμάτων.

Στην ευρύτερη έκταση φύονται συστάδες θάμνων και διάσπαρτα δέντρα, όπως σφεντάμια (Acer sempervirens) και  άρκευθοι (Juniperus oxycedrus ssp. deltoides). Στην περιορισμένη έκταση των δολίνων έχουν καταγραφεί 87 taxa, εκ των οποίων τα 30 είναι ενδημικά της Κρήτης.

ΚΗΡΥΞΗ 

Η Ειδική Μελέτη Τεκμηρίωσης εκπονήθηκε στο πλαίσιο του έργου CARE-MEDIFLORA “Δράσεις Διατήρησης για την Απειλούμενη Χλωρίδα των Μεσογειακών Νησιών: κοινές δράσεις για επιτόπια και εκτός τόπου διατήρηση” (2016-2019) από τη Μονάδα Διατήρησης Μεσογειακών Φυτών του Μεσογειακού Αγρονομικού Ινστιτούτου Χανίων.

Το 2020 δημοσιεύθηκε η Απόφαση της Αποκεντρωμένης Διοίκησης Κρήτης “Χαρακτηρισμός ως Προστατευόμενων Φυσικών Σχηματισμών θέσεων Μικρο-Αποθέματος του είδους Horstrissea dolinicola, που βρίσκονται στην τοποθεσία Πετραδολάκια όρους Ίδη, Δήμου Ανωγείων, Π.Ε. Ρεθύμνου Κρήτης” (ΦΕΚ 250/Δ).

ΣΚΟΠΟΣ

Ο χαρακτηρισμός των τεσσάρων (4) θέσεων του μικρο-αποθέματος της Horstrissea dolinicola ως Προστατευόμενων Φυσικών Σχηματισμών, αποσκοπεί στη λήψη διαχειριστικών μέτρων για την προστασία και παρακολούθηση του είδους και τη μετρίαση των δραστηριοτήτων που το απειλούν. Η προστασία και διαχείριση ανήκουν στην ευθύνη της Δασικής Υπηρεσίας Ρεθύμνου, σε συνεργασία με το Δήμο Ανωγείων και το Μ.Α.Ι.Χ.

PROTECTED NATURAL FORMATIONS IN PETRADOLAKIA OF PSILORITIS MT.

The micro-reserve sites of the rare and endangered plant species Horstrissea dolinicola in the dolines of Petradolakia site in the mountain range of Idi, have been declared as Protected Natural Formations.

The species has a very limited distribution and, until today, it has not been found anywhere else. It is the only species of the genus of Horstrissea. It is classified as Critically Endangered (CR), according to the criteria of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

A dwarf plant that grows underground and only 10% of its parts emerge from the ground. The leaves dry out during the summer months when the flowering sprouts appear, with a globular inflorescence.

HABITAT

H. dolinicola grows in neighboring dolines at an altitude of 1.500 m, on Idi Mt. (Psiloritis). It spreads on the bottom and the slight slopes of the dolines, occupying a total area of 3.8 hectares.

Shrub clusters and scattered trees grow in the wider area, such as maples (Acer sempervirens) and junipers (Juniperus oxycedrus ssp. deltoides). In the limited area of the dolines, 87 taxa have been recorded of which, 30 are endemic to Crete.

DECLARATION 

The Special Documentation Study was carried out in the framework of the CARE-MEDIFLORA project “Conservation Actions for the Endangered Flora of the Mediterranean Islands: joint actions for in – and ex – situ conservation” (2016-2019) by Mediterranean Plant Conservation Unit (MPCU) of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania.

In 2020, the Decision of the Decentralized Administration of Crete “Designation of the Micro-Reserve sites of the species Horstrissea dolinicola, located in the area of Petradolakia on Idi Mt., Anogia, R. Un. of Rethymno Crete as Protected Natural Formations” was published in the Government Gazette nr. 250/D.

PURPOSE

The designation of the four (4) sites of the micro-reserve of Horstrissea dolinicola as Protected Natural Formations, aims to establish management measures for the protection and monitoring of the species and mitigate the activities that threaten it. Protection and management belong to the jurisdiction of the Forest Directorate of Rethymno in cooperation with the Municipality of Anogia and M.A.I.Ch.
